Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

EMDR therapy is one of the most effective treatments for working through traumatic situations, distressing events, or emotional blocks. It also helps transform negative beliefs about oneself by understanding past experiences in a different way.

Although there are therapies that are based entirely on EMDR, in my case I usually integrate it within a broader approach, using it at specific times when it can facilitate the process.

During the session, a bilateral stimulation Through eye movements, bilateral sounds, or light tapping, communication between the two brain hemispheres is facilitated. The person remains conscious throughout; the goal is to reactivate the natural information processing system, which is sometimes blocked after difficult experiences.

The sensations during and after the sessions can be very diverse. Often, people describe the experience as "a weight being lifted off their shoulders," and notice a greater sense of calm, clarity, and connection with themselves and others.
